Summary Description

Cognascents is looking for a technical assistant interested in the mechanical integrity and reliability of chemical and oil and gas facilities across all streams.  In this position, the technical assistants will support through data acquisition and data coordination a strong team that will review, plan, coordinate, execute, and evaluate the integrity and reliability programs for a production and or manufacturing facility.  In this position, the technical assistants will have the opportunity to learn from senior engineers, use industry tools and technology, travel for field execution, and have an opportunity for career growth.

Essential Job Function

  • Perform data acquisition for integrity and reliability equipment.
  • Implement and support the data acquisition and deliverable creation of integrity and reliability programs for facilities onshore and offshore.
  • Review and analyze inspection results.
  • Manage day-to-day tasks for the customers and internal project teams.
  • Perform data gathering and field capture of information necessary to the successful completion of the assessments.
  • Perform field data acquisition or verify field captured data.
  • Organize and gather drawing information.
  • Work for and support other team members and personnel with specific project tasks.
  • Develop data reports, spreadsheets, and drawings as necessary for programs.
  • Work with Microsoft Office programs.

Minimum Requirements

  • Position is based in the Houston, TX office and will not be a hybrid or work-from-home position.
  • Must be legally able to work within the United States.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat, with emphasis in MS Word, MS Excel, and Visio.
  • Associates degree or two plus years of equivalent experience in data acquisition in a related field, preferred.
  • Relocation assistance will not be provided.
  • Proficiency in writing and speaking English.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills a must.
  • Strong interpersonal and time management skills.

Travel Requirements

Must be able to travel outside of the greater Houston area up to 20% of the year, though most work is based in the Houston, TX location. If necessary, travel will be 3-4 days in duration; however, circumstances will include two-week lengths as well.
